POSITION SUMMARY:

The Service Technician is a critical role within the organization, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of fire alarm and security systems. The ideal candidate should possess a strong technical background, with a deep understanding of various fire alarm and security technologies, including panels, devices, and programming. They should be well-versed in industry standards and regulations, such as NEC and NFPA requirements, and be able to apply this knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues.

The successful candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of demonstrated work history as a service technician or hold relevant certifications in IFSS' areas of expertise. NICET certification in Fire Alarm Systems is preferred but not mandatory. The ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external customers is essential, as the Service Technician will be responsible for providing customer training and support, as well as coordinating with the Service Coordinator and Service Manager to schedule resources and ensure the timely completion of projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide customer service coordination in the field and repair all IFSS installed systems
  • Deliver customer training on fire alarm and security systems
  • Work with the Service Coordinator and Service Manager to help schedule onsite resources and ensure equipment and materials are correct and onsite when needed
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external customers
  • Complete and fill out service work orders accurately and in a timely manner

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A successful 5-year minimum of demonstrated work history/knowledge as a service technician in Fire Alarm and Security or Certifications in IFSS' areas of expertise is required
  • NICET certification in Fire Alarm Systems is preferred, but not required
  • Understanding of NEC and NFPA current requirements is essential
  • Ability to troubleshoot panels, devices, and program various systems including, but not limited to, Notifier, Firelite, Silent Knight, Lenel, Open Options, DSX, Milestone, Salient, and DMP
  • Perform onsite review of previous repairs and quality control
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending seminars, keeping up with industry changes, and attending factory level training classes when necessary
  • Proficiency in the English language is a requirement

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

Hourly Rate: $28 - $35
