POSITION SUMMARY:
Tess House Law, PLLC is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Senior Paralegal to join our team in San Antonio, TX. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing complex family law cases, with a particular focus on high-asset divorce, custody, and child support matters. As a Senior Paralegal, you will play a crucial role in supporting our attorneys, ensuring seamless case management, and providing exceptional client service. Your strong organizational skills, legal acumen, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment will be key to success in this position.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Case Management & File Organization
- Maintain and organize case files, ensuring all documents are up-to-date and easily accessible.
- Track case deadlines, court dates, and filing requirements to ensure timely submissions.
- Coordinate case progress with attorneys, clients, and opposing counsel.
Legal Drafting & Document Preparation
- Draft and prepare pleadings, motions, discovery requests, deposition notices, and legal correspondence.
- Review and proofread legal documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with court rules.
- Assist attorneys in preparing settlement agreements and client-related legal paperwork.
Research & Legal Analysis
- Conduct legal research on case law, statutes, and family law precedents to support case strategy.
- Summarize findings for attorneys and provide recommendations for case development.
- Assist in preparing legal arguments and supporting materials for hearings and trials.
Court & Trial Preparation
- Assist attorneys in preparing for court appearances, hearings, trials, and mediation sessions.
- Organize and compile evidence, exhibits, and trial binders for use in court.
- Coordinate with expert witnesses, court reporters, and other legal professionals as needed.
Client Communication & Liaison
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, ensuring clear and consistent communication.
- Provide case updates, answer client inquiries, and help manage expectations throughout the legal process.
- Schedule client meetings, depositions, and court appearances in coordination with attorneys.
Administrative & Office Support
- Assist with filing, document management, and correspondence handling.
- Maintain calendars, track case timelines, and coordinate attorney schedules.
- Support attorneys with billing, expense tracking, and other administrative tasks.
Collaboration & Team Support
- Work closely with attorneys and administrative staff to ensure smooth case workflow.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior paralegals or legal assistants as needed.
- Contribute to the firm’s overall efficiency by identifying and implementing process improvements.
These responsibilities ensure that the Senior Paralegal plays a key role in supporting attorneys, managing case logistics, and maintaining excellent client service within Tess House Law, PLLC.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 3+ years of experience in family law, particularly in high-asset divorce, custody, and child support matters.
- A Paralegal Certificate or equivalent legal education is required. A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Proficiency in legal research, writing, and case management software.
- High-level organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a client-centered approach to all interactions.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
Annual Salary: Starting at $85,000 (commensurate with experience) with bonus potential
