COMPANY OVERVIEW:

Aspen Vacations is a growing vacation rental company with a passion for creating seamless stays and exceeding the expectations of our guests and homeowners. Our curated portfolio of luxury properties spans the four majestic mountains of Aspen Snowmass, one of the world’s most iconic destinations.

We’re seeking an experienced and talented Interior Designer with strong project management skills who is passionate about creating unforgettable guest experiences through elevated, design-driven spaces.

POSITION SUMMARY:

As a Senior Interior Designer | Project Manager at Aspen Vacations, you will lead the transformation of luxury vacation rental properties, incorporating the distinct style and character of the Aspen area. You’ll manage interior design projects from concept through completion, collaborating closely with homeowners, contractors, trades, vendors, and internal team members throughout the process.

Projects vary widely in scope and budget, offering you the opportunity to apply both creativity and strategic project management across a dynamic portfolio.

With many properties managed primarily as investments, you’ll have creative autonomy to deliver exceptional spaces with minimal owner direction, enhancing the guest experience and driving homeowner value.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and manage interior design projects from concept through completion, ensuring adherence to project schedules, budgets, and company standards.
  • Develop and oversee detailed project schedules, furniture budgets, resources, and deliverables to ensure timely and efficient execution.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, managing expectations and communicating design vision clearly through engaging presentations, design boards, and documentation.
  • Manage all project phases, from schematic design through construction administration, maintaining design integrity and executional quality at every stage.
  • Lead overall design direction, including space planning, custom millwork, furniture and fabric selections, lighting design, material selections, and finishes.
  • Produce and oversee the creation of detailed project drawings, including floor plans, elevations, millwork details, lighting layouts, plumbing plans, and construction documents to guide vendors and contractors.
  • Source, specify, and procure all project elements—furnishings, fixtures, finishes, plumbing, lighting, materials, and accessories—ensuring selections align with the project vision, functionality needs, and owner goals.
  • Coordinate and oversee all aspects of furniture deliveries, installation logistics, and final styling to ensure properties are impeccably staged for guests.
  • Conduct regular on-site meetings with contractors, trades, and vendors to communicate design intent, review progress, resolve issues, and ensure quality control.
  • Maintain organized project documentation, including budgets, schedules, drawings, design specifications, vendor communications, proposals, invoices, and change orders.
  • Collaborate closely with homeowners, internal team members, contractors, trades, and vendors to ensure seamless project coordination.
  • Ensure all projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and meet Aspen Vacations' high standards for quality, design, and guest experience.
  • Coordinate final staging and professional photography to ensure each property is optimally presented for vacation rental listings.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or a related field.
  • Submit portfolio demonstrating high-end residential work.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a residential design firm.
  • NCIDQ certification preferred.
  • Proven success managing multiple interior design projects simultaneously, from concept through completion.
  • Strong knowledge of design principles, construction methods, and the ability to solve construction-related issues effectively.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable, with excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant design software.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a commitment to creating positive, professional experiences across all interactions—including with guests, homeowners, team members, vendors, and contractors.
  • Comfortable collaborating cross-functionally and supporting other departments in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • A motivated self-starter with a strong sense of urgency, accountability, and follow-through.
  • Passionate about creating incredible spaces that leave a lasting impression on guests and homeowners.
