Description

Seasonal Cook – Historic Wyoming Inn & Restaurant

Company Overview

The Historic Elk Mountain Hotel is looking for a Seasonal Cook to join our small, hands-on team for the busy season (May through October).

This is a great opportunity for a cook who enjoys working in a tight-knit kitchen, values quality over volume, and takes pride in preparing thoughtful, homemade meals in a unique, historic setting.

Our kitchen focuses primarily on dinner service (5–8pm), along with breakfast for guests and occasional lunch or special events. While the volume is manageable, the expectation is high — we care deeply about consistency, presentation, and creating a memorable experience for every guest.

This is a hands-on cooking role where you’ll be involved in all aspects of kitchen operations.

  • Step in wherever needed — including dishwashing, cleaning, and kitchen reset
  • Help maintain equipment and communicate any issues quickly

What a Typical Day Looks Like

  • Morning prep and breakfast support
  • Midday prep, inventory, and kitchen organization
  • Dinner service from approximately 5–8pm
  • Clean-down and reset for the next day

This is a small operation, so flexibility and a team-first mindset are essential.

  • Ability to follow recipes and maintain consistency
  • Strong work ethic with reliability throughout the full season
  • Ability to work long shifts (8+ hours) and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Positive attitude, strong communication, and ability to perform in a fast-paced environment
