As a Resort Kitchen Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of all kitchen facilities, both hot and cold side. Your primary responsibility will be to maintain and repair kitchen equipment and appliances to uphold safety standards and ensure uninterrupted service to guests and staff. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, technical proficiency, and a dedication to maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and functionality in our resort's key operational areas. You will also work closely with the Warehouse Supervisor to help maintain accurate stockroom inventory and ensure the tools, equipment, and supplies needed for daily operations are well-stocked and organized. All work must be performed according to the resort’s standards with excellent record keeping.

In this role, you’ll be expected to complete inspections and checklists, promptly correcting any noted issues; develop and maintain parts lists for each piece of equipment; and coordinate with managers to schedule and execute ongoing maintenance programs across the resort. You must use proper personal protective equipment, follow all company safety and security procedures, and report maintenance defects to your Manager. Keeping the storage area clean, organized, and stocked is essential, along with ensuring the correct use of fire extinguishers and other life safety systems when needed. EOE/M/F/D/V

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform regular maintenance and repairs on kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, refrigerators/freezers, and dishwashers to ensure optimal performance.
  • Conduct routine inspections of kitchen facilities to identify any potential hazards or malfunctions and address them in a timely manner. Complete all maintenance tasks in a reasonable time period while adhering to all applicable trade standards and codes.
  • Collaborate with other departments to coordinate maintenance schedules and minimize disruptions to daily operations.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment inventory, and repair history.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to maintain a secure working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
  • Gather and organize necessary supplies, tools, and equipment daily to perform tasks.
  • Identifies problems, initiates work orders, accomplishes assigned work orders, and completes all repairs.
  • Performs preventive maintenance and maintains logs in an organized manner.
  • Operates with the property maintenance software program and properly updates essential information via the use of a smart device.
  • Operates a motor vehicle with a standard or automatic transmission on private and public roadways.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1 year Vocational or technical training relating to kitchen and laundry equipment (LP, Natural Gas, and Electric) Required.
  • EPA 608 Universal certification is required.
  • High school diploma, GED or suitable equivalent Required.
  • Experience working in commercial kitchens, as well as working with walk-in freezers, flat tops, convection ovens, pizza ovens, and grills
  • Valid Florida Driver's License with acceptable driving record Required.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and comprehend English.
  • Experience with commercial laundry equipment is preferred but not required.
  • Experience in a similar job/role, hospitality industry is preferred.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools.
  • Ability to use and understand smartphone applications.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as part of a team.
  • Capable of working scheduled hours, including weekdays, weekends, nights, and holidays
  • Complete all maintenance tasks in a reasonable time while adhering to all applicable trade standards and codes.
  • Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics required.
  • Able to stand, walk, crawl, stoop, kneel, bend, and / or reach repeatedly.
  • Able to safely lift 75 pounds and carry, pull, and push heavy objects and materials.
  • Able to work safely and comfortably in open heights and to climb and work on ladders and scaffolding.
  • Able to be on feet and move around for entire shift.
  • Subject to environmental conditions, work activities can occur inside and outside.
