Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Project Architect / Project Manager who is strategic, highly organized, and technically proficient, with a strong ability to build and lead productive relationships with clients, consultants, and contractors. This role requires a professional who takes ownership of projects from initial kickoff through construction administration, guiding the design team to deliver work aligned with the Owner’s scope, schedule, budget, and design vision.
In this role, you will lead and actively participate in all phases of design and documentation, while serving as the primary point of contact for project communication and coordination. The ideal candidate is analytical, proactive, and confident in decision‑making, with a passion for thoughtful design, quality documentation, and collaborative leadership. This position offers significant responsibility, professional trust, and the opportunity to work on meaningful, complex projects within a supportive studio environment.
Responsibilities:
Project & Team Leadership
- Take full ownership of projects from schematic design through construction administration, with support from internal team members based on project needs
- Lead and coordinate architects, consultants, and contractors to maintain project goals and design intent
- Serve as the primary client contact, managing communication, expectations, and key decisions
Design & Documentation
- Lead and actively participate in SD, DD, and CD phases using Revit
- Produce and oversee high-quality, coordinated construction documents consistent with firm standards
- Communicate design ideas through Revit (required); SketchUp, Bluebeam, and Adobe Creative Suite preferred
Technical Coordination
- Coordinate major building systems with engineering consultants
- Apply working knowledge of building codes, building systems, and construction methods to minimize project risk
- Research materials and products and coordinate specifications in collaboration with the firm’s specifications writer
Construction Administration Support
- Assist with submittal and RFI reviews, site visits, and punch lists
- Support CA efforts to ensure design intent is maintained through construction
Mentorship & Collaboration
- Mentor and collaborate with internal team members
- Contribute to a positive, organized, and proactive studio culture
Qualifications:
- Professional degree in Architecture from an accredited program
- Florida architectural licensure preferred; candidates pursuing licensure or reciprocity will be considered
- 10+ years of experience in an architectural office
- Experience in one or more of the following project types is preferred: Education, Aviation, Cultural (Performing Arts Centers), Commercial, Civic or Sports facilities
- Accommodating individual with a sense of urgency to multi-task on multiple projects and assignments
- Comfortable working collaboratively while also managing responsibilities independently
- Strong graphic and technical skills with the ability to translate design concepts into coordinated construction documents, including understanding of drawing standards and code compliance
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in: Revit (required), SketchUp, Bluebeam, Adobe Suite, MS Office & Outlook
Compensation
A salary fully commensurate with experience and credentials will be accompanied by a complete fringe benefit package, including matching 401(k), insurance options and paid time off, among others.
