We are seeking an experienced leader for our Planning, Purchasing & Inventory Control team.

POSITION SUMMARY:

This individual will be a key member of the Mastercool management team. The main responsibilities of this role will be to provide daily leadership and development direction to a group of Purchasing, Planning & Inventory Control professionals. Other job-related duties will include working closely with Sales and Manufacturing to meet customer delivery objectives, optimizing labor & material performance metrics, and frequently interfacing with other members of the operational, engineering, and sales teams to address product- and customer-related concerns and opportunities for improvement.

The ideal candidate will be self-driven and motivated to take on new tasks and will become a key player in a variety of Supply Chain activities. Big-picture thinking, an ability to translate “vision” into tactical tasks, and a focus on teamwork are needed as this position will work directly with all departments in the organization. The successful candidate will bring systems and business process leadership to Mastercool, helping drive further successful implementation of a recently implemented ERP system (Infor’s CloudSuite Industrial).

Our ideal candidate will be fluent in Chinese.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Daily supervision and direction of materials associates and activities.
  • Recruitment, selection, development, and performance management of materials associates.
  • Supplier performance – including sourcing activities.
  • Ensure materials / operational performance is in conformance with key metrics, including efficiency, productivity, product cost, quality, etc.
  • Lead role in the development and implementation of improved business processes in conjunction with the use of ERP

SPECIFIC ACTIVITIES INCLUDE:

  • Organize, reorganize and distribute responsibilities within Materials functions as needed
  • Develop and implement comprehensive training programs to ensure associate skill development.
  • Develop/improve/support Forecasting, Sales & Operations Planning, and Master Scheduling activities, taking a leadership role in driving improvements.
  • Manage all aspects of inventory to maintain/improve inventory turns and records accuracy while minimizing labor required.
  • Manage all aspects of supplier performance – from sourcing/selection to cost reductions to on-time delivery performance
  • Monitor ERP functionality with regard to Materials & Manufacturing to ensure data accuracy.
  • Review business processes and identify areas for improvement (utilizing ERP or other software as appropriate).
  • Work laterally throughout the organization to gather resources, achieve results, and meet operational objectives.
  • Communicate with Technical Support / Service to assist in field resolution of product issues and implement corrective actions where necessary.
  • Participate as required in product development activities, leveraging supplier capabilities as appropriate

STRONGLY PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to speak and comprehend the Chinese language.
  • Experience sourcing mechanical, electrical, and electronic components and sub-assemblies from domestic and international (Far East) suppliers.
  • Experience managing Purchasing, Inventory Control, Production Control, and Planning / Master Scheduling functions (including Sales & Operations Planning) using integrated ERP systems.
  • Proven capabilities in developing & maintaining supplier relationships.
  • Experience driving materials/business process performance improvement (inventory turns, supplier cost/quality/delivery, schedule attainment, customer order fill rate / on-time shipments, etc.).
  • Professional affiliations and certifications (APICS / ASCM – CPIM, CSCP, CIRM, etc.; ISM / NAPM – CPM, CPSM, etc.).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Business-related college degree.
  • Excellent organizational, written, and oral communication, and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to interface effectively. with all constituents and work closely with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong understanding of domestic and international logistics.
  • Specific commodity expertise (related to Mastercool products/components).
  • Familiar with UCC .
  • Training and facilitation experience.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement principles and activities.

Annual Salary: $70,000 - $90,000
