POSITION SUMMARY:

The Landscaping Operations Manager oversees all field and administrative functions necessary for the efficient execution of landscape design, build, and construction projects. This role carries full responsibility for hiring, training, evaluating bids from Account Managers, and driving operational excellence across the branch.

The Operations Manager’s top priority is developing leaders within the landscaping division  - training and empowering team leads to manage their crews effectively while maintaining consistent, high-quality results. This individual is ultimately accountable for the success, efficiency, and profitability of the Landscape Branch.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Financial Operations

  • Monitor job costs, conduct closeout reviews with Account Managers, Controller, and CEO.
  • Drive the creation and accuracy of monthly Work In Progress (WIP) reports.
  • Assist the Controller in preparing and managing the annual budget.
  • Ensure maximum production efficiency and control of field-related costs and unbillable labor.
  • Generate purchase orders and requests for departmental needs with CEO authorization.
  • Accurately complete all required paperwork and reporting.

Field & Yard Operations

  • Schedule and lead pre- and post-job meetings with Account Managers.
  • Spend approximately 75% of the day in the field to evaluate crews, promote continuous improvement, and ensure consistent quality standards.
  • Monitor daily operations including crew dispatch, workload management, and adherence to fleet and fueling procedures.
  • Oversee daily opening and closing of the Landscape Department facility and yard.
  • Maintain effective communication with Account Managers, Foremen, Mechanics, and management staff.
  • Submit weekly reports to the CEO detailing accomplishments, challenges, and resolutions.

People Operations

  • Partner with Human Resources in hiring, evaluating, disciplining, and terminating landscape personnel.
  • Develop and implement ongoing training programs to drive crew efficiency and leadership development.
  • Work closely with the Safety Manager to implement safety training and ensure compliance with workplace safety standards.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating attention to detail and high performance expectations.
  • Encourage continuous improvement through innovation and adoption of industry best practices.
  • Uphold company policies, procedures, and core values at all times.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3 years of Landscape Construction experience
  • Ability to maintain insurable Florida driver’s license
  • Understands how to motivate a diverse workforce
  • Demonstrated knowledge in safe operating practices and safety processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational and follow-through abilities
  • Knowledge of computers and Microsoft programs
  • Good physical condition as determined by pre and post-employment inquiries and health records
  • Must be a proactive thinker/planner
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

Pay: $45,000 - $50,000 Annually

Schedule:

  • Monday – Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:30 PM
