POSITION SUMMARY:
The Housekeeping Manager will oversee and manage the cleanliness and upkeep of our beautiful beachfront rental properties to ensure an exceptional guest experience. Working closely with housekeeping vendors and internal teams, the Housekeeping Manager will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness, organization, and property readiness before and after guest stays. This role involves coordinating cleaning schedules, conducting property inspections, managing inventory, and ensuring all housekeeping services are executed efficiently and effectively.
The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and experienced in managing housekeeping operations in a fast-paced, service-driven environment. The Housekeeping Manager will play a key role in ensuring that our properties are spotless, welcoming, and always ready to provide our guests with a seamless and enjoyable experience.
This position requires excellent organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with vendors and team members to achieve the highest level of cleanliness and guest satisfaction.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage Vendor Relationships: Oversee and coordinate with external housekeeping vendors to ensure timely, high-quality cleaning services for all properties.
- Vendor Scheduling & Coordination: Develop and manage cleaning schedules with vendors, ensuring timely turnovers between guest check-ins/check-outs, especially during peak seasons.
- Property Inspections: Conduct regular inspections before and after guest arrivals to ensure cleanliness, functionality, and readiness of properties, and follow up with vendors as needed for any issues.
- Quality Control: Ensure that vendors meet the company's cleanliness standards by conducting inspections and providing feedback, ensuring all properties are guest-ready.
- Monitor Vendor Performance: Track and evaluate the performance of housekeeping vendors, ensuring their work consistently meets company standards for quality and guest satisfaction.
- Inventory Management: Work with vendors to ensure an adequate supply of linens and toiletries are available in the property.
- Address Guest Feedback: Resolve any guest complaints related to cleanliness working with vendors to promptly address concerns.
- Collaborate with Operations Team: Coordinate with the operations team to ensure housekeeping tasks align with property maintenance schedules and guest needs.
- Vendor Compliance: Ensure vendors maintain high standards for guest safety and satisfaction.
- Train & Support Vendors: Provide ongoing training and guidance to vendors on specific cleaning expectations, property-specific needs, and safety protocols.
- Cost Management: Oversee housekeeping-related expenses, working with vendors to manage costs while ensuring high-quality cleaning standards are maintained.
- Track & Report: Regularly track the performance of vendors, manage housekeeping costs, and provide detailed reports to management on vendor performance, property cleanliness, and operational efficiency.
- Resolve Maintenance Issues: Work with vendors to identify and resolve any minor maintenance issues during the cleaning process and escalate larger issues to the office team.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Housekeeping Manager Qualifications – Beachfront Short-Term Rental Company
Experience:
- 2+ years of experience in housekeeping management, preferably in short-term rentals, vacation homes, or hospitality.
- Experience leading housekeeping teams in a fast-paced, high-turnover environment.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong organizational and time management skills to oversee multiple properties.
- Knowledge of cleaning standards for vacation rentals, including deep cleaning
- Ability to inspect and maintain quality control of housekeeping services.
- Knowledge of laundry services, linen management, and supply inventory control.
- Understanding of basic maintenance issues and ability to coordinate with maintenance teams.
Leadership & Customer Service:
- Strong leadership and team management skills to train and supervise housekeeping companies.
- Ability to handle guest complaints professionally and resolve cleanliness-related concerns.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with guest services, maintenance staff, and guests.
Work Requirements:
- Weekend and holiday availability required due to peak turnover periods.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings and split shifts.
- Comfortable working in a beachfront environment, including dealing with sand, humidity, and seasonal weather conditions.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 20-30 lbs, and move between multiple properties.
- Must have a reliable personal vehicle and be willing to use it to travel between rental locations (reimbursement may be available).
- Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance required.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
Annual Salary: $45,000 - $60,000
