POSITION SUMMARY:
As an HOA Accountant at Resort Group, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the financial operations of our homeowner associations. Your responsibilities will include managing accounts payable and receivable, posting journal entries, and reconciling financial statements to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
You'll also prepare budget sheets, input budget data into the system, and maintain up-to-date ownership records. Strong organizational skills and Excel proficiency will help you efficiently handle monthly and quarterly owner statements, reconcile bank statements, and manage a well-organized electronic filing system.
In addition to your core duties, you’ll assist with special projects as needed and provide backup support for accounting clerk tasks during time off or periods of high volume. This is a great role for someone who’s detail-focused, self-sufficient, and committed to keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- AP, AR, journal entries, and financial statement reconciliation. Prepare budget shells and enter budget information into system.
- Prepare estoppels for real estate transactions. Maintain ownership information including setting up new owners, inactivating old owners, processing new owner accounts for special assessments.
- Prepares and mails monthly/quarterly owner statements. Works with manager for monthly collection letters, as necessary.
- Assists in both internal and external inquiries into invoice payments, receivables, expenditures, and other accounting transactions.
- Updates monthly and quarterly recurring charges and other accounting controls in the system when directed to do so by Accountants, Controllers, Director of Accounting, HOA Manager, or direct supervisor.
- Reconcile bank statements as assigned.
- Maintains an electronic filing system, downloads, and files electronic records. Filing of all paid invoices, deposits, journal entries, bank statements, and annual upkeep of all files for all assigned associations or companies.
- Assist remote staff with various office tasks including scanning items for their review, printing checks, printing, and folding mail.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- This position requires a valid driver's license with clean driving history for insurability purposes.
- Must have experience with accounts payable and/or accounts receivable.
- Must have 1 year of experience in a professional, office setting.
- Must be proficient in Excel.
- Must be proficient in working with computers in a professional setting.
- Should have experience with basic office tasks such as scanning, printing checks, and mailing statements.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
Hourly Rate: $23.00 - $29.00
