COMPANY OVERVIEW:
Beach Retreats offers a collection of unique, independent properties in Ocracoke Island, Nags Head, and Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina. The properties range from inns and B&Bs to villas, beach bungalows and motels. Each property is highly individual and enables guests to experience each destination on their own terms. Each Beach Retreats location has a designated innkeeper or site manager, who will be your on-site contact ensuring your vacation is relaxing and memorable. While our office hours vary by location and time of year, all properties also provide an emergency contact number for any after-hours needs.
POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-oriented Guest Services / Front Desk Associate to join our team at Beach Retreats in Ocracoke, NC. The ideal candidate will be responsible for greeting and checking in guests, ensuring the cleanliness and readiness of all areas, and anticipating and responding to guests' needs in a courteous and professional manner. The Guest Services / Front Desk Associate will also manage reservations, communicate with maintenance, monitor inventory, inspect rooms and common areas, manage expenses, and oversee a team of 4-6 staff members. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage a team of 4-6 including cooks, housekeepers, maintenance and 3rd party vendors
- Greet and check in guests upon arrival
- Ensure that all areas of the Inn are properly cleaned and ready for guests' arrival
- Anticipate and assess guests' needs and responds in a courteous and professional manner
- Respond to emails, answers phone calls, makes, monitors and manages reservations
- Communicate with maintenance to report maintenance and/or repair needs. Use system (Breezeway) to complete work orders
- Monitor and maintain proper inventory of all supplies
- Ensure housekeeping supplies are well maintained and ordered for business needs
- Inspect rooms and all common areas on a daily basis and promptly addresses any and all issues that may be present
- Manages expenses within approved budget constraints. Ensures all billing for items are completed on a dailyweeklymonthly basis
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demonstrated proficiency in supervising and motivating subordinates
- High school diploma or GED equivalency
- Experience in Hospitality preferred
- Experience with Track software preferred
- Commitment to excellence and high standards
- Ability to work with all levels of management and subordinates
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to perform the physical labor necessary
- Must be available on weekends, holidays and after hours for emergencies
- Must be willing to work a non traditional schedule and flex with the business needs.

Hourly Rate: $16 - $22

Schedule
- Hours vary based on business levels but must be available to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed. Must be willing to work a non traditional schedule and flex with the business needs.
