Description
COMPANY OVERVIEW:
At ShotVet, we’re on a mission to make pet healthcare affordable and accessible across the country. We’re scaling fast, and we need a hands-on Finance Manager who’s eager to roll up their sleeves, own critical pieces of the business, and grow with us as we expand to $100M+. This is not your typical finance role — it’s a chance to sit at the leadership table, influence strategy, and build the financial systems and insights that fuel growth and elevate enterprise value.
Why Join ShotVet?
- Competitive salary + performance-based bonus
- Health, dental, and vision insurance
- Employee discounts & flexible schedule
- Opportunity to work side-by-side with the leadership team and influence major financial and strategic decisions
- Clear path to grow into a c-suite role
What makes ShotVet unique is the combination of strong growth, meaningful impact, and a mission people genuinely love being part of. We are building a scalable, data-driven business that helps make veterinary care more affordable and accessible for pet families across the country. Instead of supporting a behind-the-scenes or purely transactional product, your work helps power a service that directly improves the lives of pets and the people who love them. For someone who takes pride in high-quality work, this is an opportunity to pair serious, strategic impact with a mission that feels good to support every day.
POSITION SUMMARY:
We’re looking for a Finance Manager who thrives on turning data into strategy and strategy into growth. In this role, you will lead advanced analytics, build structured and highly accurate models, and translate complex financial and operational data into insights that guide market expansion, performance optimization, and long-term value creation. This is a highly analytical, data-driven role that partners closely with leadership to support major business decisions.
You will also provide high-level financial oversight, ensuring that accounting and reporting functions, managed by an internal team, remain accurate, compliant, and scalable as the company grows. Your disciplined, detail-oriented approach will help strengthen financial visibility, support smart decision-making, and build a strong foundation for continued expansion.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Growth Strategy Support
- Build sophisticated, highly accurate financial models and competitive analyses to evaluate new event and geographic locations and revenue opportunities.
- Present data-backed, well-reasoned recommendations to the leadership team, grounded in careful analysis and financial discipline.
- Direct a small team executing growth initiatives, providing clear structure, defined expectations, and accountability around results.
- Adapt priorities as market conditions evolve while maintaining financial rigor, risk awareness, and attention to detail.
- Partner cross-functionally to align growth plans with long-term value creation goals, ensuring decisions are supported by reliable data and sound financial logic.
2. Data & Analytics
- Dive deep into company data layers to identify trends, forecast performance, and support strategic decision-making with precision and accuracy.
- Use BI tools (Sigma experience a plus) to develop structured dashboards, automate reporting, and maintain high standards of data integrity.
- Build a strong technical understanding of financial and operational data structures, connecting day-to-day performance with broader business outcomes.
- Implement best practices from other high-growth companies to improve margins and strengthen forecasting reliability, with a focus on consistency and quality.
- Ensure data integrity and consistency across financial systems so reporting is audit-ready and dependable for diligence or future capitalization needs.
3. Finance & Accounting Oversight
- Provide financial oversight of core accounting functions managed by the internal team and external partners, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and strong financial controls as the company scales.
- Review financial reporting, close outputs, and compliance-related deliverables to ensure reliability and readiness for leadership, lenders, investors, and auditors.
- Support cash flow visibility, working capital tracking, and forecasting accuracy through high-level financial analysis and oversight, not day-to-day transaction processing.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 4+ years of progressive finance experience (manager/analyst level in a high-growth company is ideal)
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
- Strong modeling, forecasting, and financial storytelling skills.
- Deep comfort with financial concepts such as cash flow, debt, margins, and capital efficiency, and the ability to communicate them clearly and professionally.
- Comfortable balancing hands-on execution with leadership responsibilities.
- Experience supporting scaling organizations or improving gross margins a plus.
- Excited to grow into a senior financial leadership role as the company expands, bringing steady, disciplined leadership to a fast-growing environment.
