POSITION SUMMARY:
JCQ Services, Inc. is seeking a skilled and dependable Diesel Mechanic to join our team. This role is essential to ensuring the reliability, performance, and safety of our fleet of diesel trucks, trailers, and heavy-duty equipment. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with diesel engines, a proactive approach to preventative maintenance, and a commitment to upholding safety and compliance standards. This position requires strong diagnostic abilities, excellent problem-solving skills, and a collaborative attitude to support our operations team and keep our vehicles on the road.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform scheduled maintenance, inspections, and repairs on diesel trucks, trailers, and equipment
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using diagnostic tools and software
- Complete Department of Transportation (DOT) inspections to ensure compliance and safety
- Execute complex mechanical repairs, including engine overhauls, brake systems, and transmissions
- Maintain thorough service records, repair logs, and work order documentation
- Interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic codes accurately
- Collaborate with drivers and fleet managers to address and resolve vehicle issues
- Respond to roadside service calls and emergency repairs when needed
- Follow OSHA regulations and company safety procedures in all work environments
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training in diesel technology preferred
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a diesel mechanic, preferably with heavy-duty or fleet vehicles
- Valid driver’s license required; CDL is preferred or may be required depending on the role
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, diagnostic tools, electrical systems, and hydraulic components
- Ability to read and interpret repair manuals, schematics, and DOT regulations
- ASE Certification or equivalent credentials are a plus
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds, work in confined spaces, and handle physical labor in varying weather conditions
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
Annual Salary: $60,000 - $70,000
