POSITION SUMMARY:
As a Vacation Rental Tax Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting our clients by ensuring accurate and timely compliance with vacation rental tax requirements across multiple jurisdictions. While there are some unique differences to vacation tax, it’s a very similar process to US sales tax filings. Using cloud-based accounting platforms and process automation tools, you’ll help streamline tax reporting, manage financial data, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our client workflows.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
What Your Day to Day Will Look Like
- Compile and file monthly, quarterly, and annual vacation rental tax reports according to jurisdictional requirements.
- Research and document state or jurisdiction-specific processes to ensure accurate filings.
- Record and reconcile vacation rental tax payments and collections in QuickBooks Online (QBO), investigating discrepancies as needed.
- Lead the annual 1099 process and conduct quarterly reviews of W-9s and vendor information for assigned clients.
- Perform quality assurance reviews on client deliverables to maintain accuracy and consistency.
- Help maintain and improve Karbon workflows to enhance client processes and team efficiency.
- Document procedures and updates in Notion for internal tracking and reference.
- Communicate directly with clients to clarify requirements, provide updates, and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
- Manage one junior team member who assists with compiling the filing information
- Support other ad-hoc projects and duties as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
What You Need to Succeed
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: Proven background in bookkeeping, accounting, or comparable roles with a US-based client – preferably with US sales tax experience.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, spreadsheets, and other cloud-based accounting platforms.
- Familiarity with Karbon and Notion is a plus.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
Pay: 80,000 - 100,000 PHP / Monthly
Schedule: Full-time; 8AM - 5PM EST
