POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Lead Counsel at Tess House Law, PLLC will serve as a strategic leader in our San Antonio-based family law practice. The successful candidate will leverage their extensive experience in high-asset divorce, child custody, and child support cases to provide exceptional legal representation to our clients. The Senior Lead Counsel will oversee complex cases, mentor junior attorneys, and contribute to the firm's growth and reputation. We seek a detail-oriented, analytical, and adaptable professional who can navigate challenging legal matters with empathy and professionalism.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Client Advocacy & Representation

  • Provide expert legal counsel on family law matters, including high-asset divorce, child custody, child support, and adoption cases.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, mediations, and settlement negotiations.
  • Ensure clients understand their legal rights and options by offering clear and strategic legal advice.
  • Advocate for clients with empathy and professionalism, guiding them through emotionally challenging situations.

Strategic Case Management

  • Lead the development and execution of legal strategies for complex and high-profile family law cases.
  • Oversee the litigation process, ensuring timely filings, responses, and case progress.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and paralegals to drive successful case outcomes.
  • Maintain compliance with all ethical and legal standards while handling sensitive client information.

Leadership & Mentorship

  • Supervise, mentor, and provide strategic guidance to support staff.
  • Conduct case review meetings to enhance team expertise.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment focused on professional growth and knowledge sharing.

Courtroom & Mediation Leadership

  • Lead mediation and negotiation sessions to resolve cases efficiently and favorably.
  • Deliver persuasive arguments in hearings, trials, and settlement discussions.
  • Maintain strong professional relationships with judges, opposing counsel, and court officials to facilitate smooth case progression.

Legal Documentation & Compliance

  • Draft, review, and revise key legal documents, including pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, and court orders.
  • Ensure all legal filings are accurate, timely, and comply with state and federal laws.
  • Conduct thorough legal research to support case strategy and client representation.

Client Communication & Relationship Management

  • Maintain regular and transparent communication with clients regarding case status and legal strategies.
  • Address client concerns with professionalism, providing reassurance and realistic expectations.
  • Uphold the firm’s reputation for compassion and excellence in legal service.

Business Development & Firm Growth

  • Contribute to the growth and success of the firm by identifying new opportunities and strengthening client relationships.
  • Participate in networking events, legal seminars, and community engagement initiatives to enhance the firm's presence.
  • Provide strategic insights to improve firm processes and overall legal service offerings.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Law or a related field
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • State Bar Admission (active and in good standing)
  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience in family law, with proven expertise in high-asset divorce, child custody, and child support cases.
  • Demonstrated success in handling complex, high-profile family law matters.
  • Expertise in legal research, case management, and drafting complex legal documents.
  • High level of proficiency with legal software and tools used in family law practice.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on client-focused interactions and clear legal explanations.
  • An empathetic, client-centered approach to legal practice.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects effectively.
