Position Summary

Panhandle Getaways is seeking a hands-on Commercial Laundry Operations Manager to lead our hospitality laundry facility in Panama City Beach. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced production environment and loves solving problems on the fly. You'll be on the floor every day working alongside your team, optimizing workflows, troubleshooting equipment, and ensuring every piece of linen meets our quality standards. If you're someone who enjoys rolling up your sleeves, coaching others, and continuously improving operations through creative solutions and real-time adjustments, this is the opportunity for you.

We’re hiring an experienced commercial laundry leader to run day-to-day plant operations: production throughput (PPH), labor efficiency, cost & inventory control, chemical usage, quality control, staffing/scheduling, and equipment operation & troubleshooting. You’ll track inventory and order appropriately, train alongside the team, and ensure the laundry stays profitable by balancing labor costs with pounds produced.

Key Responsibilities

  • Production & Labor Efficiency

    • Plan staffing and daily production to hit PPH (pounds per hour) targets and shift KPIs.

    • Monitor labor cost per pound and make real-time adjustments to keep the operation profitable.

    • Work and train with everyone in the laundry—coach standards, cross-train roles, and reinforce SOPs.

  • Inventory, Ordering & Cost Control

    • Track linen, chemicals, and consumables daily; order appropriately to avoid stockouts/overstock.

    • Manage chemical dilution, usage, and vendor programs to control COGS and maintain quality.

    • Own cycle counts and loss prevention (linen loss/shrink).

  • Quality Control & Safety

    • Set and enforce QC standards for wash quality, stain removal, folding, and packaging.

    • Inspect output throughout shifts; correct defects immediately.

    • Maintain OSHA-compliant safety, cleanliness, and equipment lockout/tagout practices.

  • Equipment & Facility

    • Operate and troubleshoot commercial washers, dryers, ironers, a towel folder; escalate service/PM quickly.

    • Coordinate with vendors/techs on repairs and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.

  • Reporting & Communication

    • Track and report daily/weekly metrics (PPH, labor %, rewash rate, spoilage, chemical usage, on-time completion).

    • Partner with Operations/Housekeeping on linen pars, delivery windows, and quality expectations.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of commercial laundry experience, preferably within hospitality, healthcare, industrial laundry, or another high-volume production environment.

  • Previous experience leading or supervising laundry operations, including staffing, scheduling, training, and day-to-day workflow management.

  • Strong understanding of commercial laundry production and efficiency metrics, including pounds per hour (PPH), throughput, labor costs, rewash rates, and productivity.

  • Hands-on experience operating commercial laundry equipment with the ability to identify and troubleshoot basic equipment issues and appropriately escalate repairs.

  • Experience managing linen, chemical, and consumable inventory, including ordering, usage monitoring, and loss prevention.

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain quality-control standards across washing, stain removal, drying, folding, and final linen preparation.

  • Ability to work alongside the team in a fast-paced, physically active production environment while maintaining oversight of the overall operation.

  • Strong leadership, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to make effective real-time operational decisions.

  • Comfortable using basic business systems, including Excel or similar spreadsheets, scheduling/timekeeping software, and vendor platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years directly managing or running a commercial laundry operation, particularly within hospitality, healthcare, or a high-volume industrial facility.

  • Experience managing a laundry operation using labor cost per pound, PPH, COGS, chemical usage, linen loss, and other production KPIs.

  • Experience with commercial washers, dryers, ironers, and automated folding equipment, including preventive maintenance coordination.

  • Knowledge of commercial laundry chemical programs, dilution systems, and vendor-managed chemical programs.

  • Experience developing or improving SOPs, production workflows, staffing models, or other operational processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs.

  • Familiarity with OSHA requirements and lockout/tagout procedures within a commercial or industrial environment.

  • Experience supporting laundry operations for vacation rentals, hotels, resorts, or other large-scale hospitality operations.
