Position Summary
Bennett Law Center is seeking an experienced bilingual Immigration Paralegal based in Colombia to provide remote support to our U.S.-based law firm as an independent contractor. We are looking for someone with strong organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to deliver accurate, timely paralegal work.
Key Responsibilities
Depending on experience and assigned matters, responsibilities may include:
Provide paralegal support to attorneys on assigned immigration matters.
Prepare immigration applications, petitions, forms, and supporting documentation.
Draft correspondence, declarations, and other case-related documents.
Gather, review, and organize client documentation and evidence.
Track deadlines, filings, hearings, interviews, and other case-related dates.
Maintain accurate electronic case files and detailed case notes.
Communicate with clients to obtain information and documentation and provide case-related updates as directed.
Coordinate with attorneys and other members of the legal team.
Conduct case-related research.
Identify missing information, documentation, and upcoming deadlines requiring attention.
Complete assigned work accurately and within established deadlines.
Required Qualifications
Prior substantive U.S. immigration law experience in one or more of the practice areas listed below.***
Professional fluency in English and Spanish, both written and verbal.
Strong immigration paralegal and case support skills.
Excellent communication, organization, and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines.
Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with attorneys and other legal professionals.
Strong problem-solving skills and professional judgment.
Strong technology skills and ability to work within electronic case management systems.
Experience with Clio Manage or another legal case management platform (preffered but not a requirement)
***Prior substantive experience with U.S. immigration law is required. Candidates should have experience in at least one of the practice areas below. Experience across every area is not required.
