Position Summary
As the Inventory/Materials Handler, you will be responsible for the daily receiving, tracking, storage, ordering, and distribution of materials used throughout our production operation. You will maintain accurate inventory records, process inventory transactions, monitor material levels, and help ensure production departments have the supplies and materials they need to operate efficiently.
This role is well suited for someone who is self-motivated, organized, comfortable working independently, and attentive to details. The Inventory Specialist will work closely with production, purchasing, vendors, and other departments to maintain accurate inventory and resolve discrepancies.
Key Responsibilities
Receive incoming materials and verify deliveries against purchase orders, invoices, and packing slips for accuracy
Count, weigh, and inspect incoming materials to verify quantities and condition
Enter and process inventory transactions for materials received, issued, transferred, and distributed
Create purchase orders and order routine materials and supplies needed for daily production operations
Monitor inventory levels to help ensure adequate materials are available to support production
Organize, label, store, and maintain inventory in designated warehouse areas for accurate tracking and efficient access
Distribute materials and supplies to production departments as needed
Perform routine cycle counts to verify inventory accuracy
Research and resolve inventory count discrepancies
Prepare for and participate in monthly physical inventory counts
Coordinate inventory transfers between company buildings or departments
Communicate with outside vendors regarding orders, deliveries, and material needs
Prepare and ship packages using UPS WorldShip, FedEx, and other applicable shipping systems
Assist with shipping, receiving, and general warehouse material-handling responsibilities
Safely operate forklifts, electric pallet jacks, manual pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment as authorized
Maintain accurate inventory documentation and records
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse and inventory area
Follow company safety procedures and established inventory-control processes
Collaborate with production and other departments to support daily operational needs
Required Qualifications
Previous warehouse, inventory, shipping/receiving, or material-handling experience
High school diploma or equivalent
Basic math and computer skills
Proficiency or working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and internet-based applications
Ability to accurately enter data and maintain inventory records
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently, prioritize responsibilities, and follow through on assigned tasks
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to safely lift, move, and handle materials as required by the position
Willingness and ability to become forklift certified
Preferred Qualifications
At least one year of related warehouse or inventory experience
Experience with inventory management or ERP systems
Forklift and pallet jack experience
Experience using UPS WorldShip and FedEx shipping systems
Experience creating purchase orders and communicating with vendors
Experience working in a manufacturing, printing, direct mail, or production environment

Compensation: $19 - $22 per hour
