Position Summary
Escape to Blue Ridge is seeking a dependable Environmental Specialist - Waste Management to help keep our vacation rental properties clean and ready for arriving guests.
In this field-based role, you’ll drive a company-provided vehicle equipped with a trash hopper to assigned properties, collect household waste from outdoor bins following guest departures, and transport it to approved disposal locations. You’ll also keep trash areas orderly and report any property or equipment concerns.
This position is a good fit for someone who enjoys working independently, staying active outdoors, and taking pride in completing a daily route thoroughly and efficiently. Your work directly supports a welcoming experience for guests and well-maintained properties for homeowners.
What You’ll Do
Drive a company-provided vehicle along assigned routes to service vacation rental properties.
Collect bagged household waste from designated outdoor bins and safely load it into the vehicle’s trash hopper.
Leave trash collection areas clean and free of loose garbage or debris, returning bins to their proper locations.
Transport and dispose of collected waste at approved landfills, transfer stations, or company-designated disposal locations.
Report excessive trash, damaged bins, illegal dumping, unusual property conditions, or locations that cannot be serviced.
Maintain the cleanliness of the company vehicle and trash hopper, complete basic daily vehicle checks, and report maintenance or safety concerns.
Safely navigate mountain roads, driveways, and varying terrain.
Follow company safety procedures and applicable waste-handling requirements.
Complete assigned routes efficiently while respecting homeowners’ properties and maintaining professional conduct.
Assist with other related duties as operational needs arise.
Required Qualifications
Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
Ability to safely lift, carry, and load bags of household waste throughout the workday.
Ability to perform physical outdoor work in varying weather conditions and temperatures.
Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and complete assigned routes with limited supervision.
Dependability, sound judgment, and a professional approach when working at vacation rental properties.
Compensation, Benefits & More
Compensation: $14 - $17 an hour

Schedule: Five days per week, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Workdays are determined by business needs, with a set schedule once established.
