Position Summary
Louis Berk Law is expanding its litigation department and seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney who can take full ownership of a case from filing through resolution.
You'll set litigation strategy, manage a full docket, lead the team supporting your cases, drive discovery and negotiations, and prepare cases for trial. You'll have the autonomy to make decisions while operating within the firm's established processes and standards.
Extreme ownership is the expectation. The strategy, deadlines, client experience, and outcome of each file are yours to manage. We're looking for a strong litigator who pairs aggressive, intelligent advocacy with disciplined case management and exceptional client service.
Key Responsibilities
Litigation & Case Strategy
Own case strategy, including case theory, valuation, and approach to the defense.
Draft and argue pleadings, discovery, and dispositive and evidentiary motions.
Take and defend depositions of parties, treating providers, and experts.
Direct discovery strategically toward the theory of the case.
Work with experts and treating physicians on liability, causation, and damages.
Represent clients at mediation and negotiate with carriers and defense counsel.
Prepare cases for trial and try cases when necessary.
Case Management & Client Relations
Manage a full litigation docket and proactively move cases toward resolution.
Own deadlines, calendaring, case milestones, and Filevine documentation.
Identify case challenges early and develop recommended solutions.
Maintain consistent client communication and set clear expectations throughout the case.
Deliver a client experience that reflects the firm's standards and reputation.
Team Leadership
Lead and develop the paralegals, assistants, and associates supporting your cases.
Direct work across your docket and ensure deadlines and deliverables are met.
Collaborate with intake, case management, litigation, and firm leadership.
Help strengthen litigation standards and scale the department as the firm grows.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of litigation experience handling cases from filing through resolution required.
Admission to The Florida Bar in good standing.
Based in Central Florida or willing to relocate.
Ability to independently manage a full litigation docket from day one.
Previous experience leading a legal team.
First-chair deposition, motion practice, and mediation experience.
Fluent in English and Spanish. Non-negotiable
Preferred Qualifications
Trial experience, including cases tried to verdict.
Previous insurance defense experience.
Experience with Filevine or a comparable legal case management platform.

Compensation & Benefits
Annual Salary
$175,000 – $250,000
