getawayGoGo is a last-minute direct booking marketplace for connecting travelers with last-minute vacation rental openings and deals from property managers.
Working as a senior developer with getawayGoGo will mean being a key part of the team building an innovative global travel marketplace that utilizes traditional and innovative marketing, creating and building new online and mobile tools as well as API integrations with the vacation rental industry's leading and up and coming property management systems. getawayGoGo's unique flat-rate booking and connection model is a game-changer in the industry along with our roadmap of connecting innovative technology and marketing. Our goal is rapid and sustainable growth to become the leading last-minute vacation rental travel marketplace in the world.
Where did the idea for getawayGoGo come from? While managing his vacation rental management company in Southern California, owner Brad den Dulk and his team recognized there was extra marketing effort and systems required to fill their last-minute vacancies. These efforts consisted of price reductions and headline changes on all OTAs, social media specials postings, email newsletter blasts, reservationist discounting, and more. Though effective, these efforts added extra marketing costs and were time-consuming. Also, because of the OTA fees and reduced direct Traveler communication, it became even more challenging to fill last-minute openings. From this experience the concept for a last-minute marketplace, getawayGoGo was created.
POSITION SUMMARY:
We are looking for an outstanding Senior Web Developer to be responsible for the coding for both the front-end and server-side of our website. Web developer responsibilities include developing front-end code (JS, Vue or React, Angular, HTML, CSS, SCSS) and backend (Laraval PHP) based on tasks provided. We’re looking for a leader who can stay on top of and ahead of an innovative startup’s tasks and enjoys working with many aspects of an up-and-coming web application.
This is a part-time contract (1099) position.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Write well-designed, testable, efficient code by using the best software development practices
- Develop the necessary client and server-side aspects of projects based on visuals and product designs provided by using standard HTML/CSS practices
- Integrate data from various back-end services and databases
- Gather and refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs
- Create and maintain software documentation
- Be responsible for maintaining, expanding, and scaling our site
- Stay plugged into emerging technologies/industry trends and apply them to operations and activities
- Cooperate with web designers to match visual design intent
- Daily manage and check coding from the offshore development team
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proven working experience in web programming for vacation rental industry companies like an OTA (Online Travel Agency) or PMS (Property Management Software) company is strongly preferred.
- Laraval/PHP knowledge is a requirement.
- Vue JS or React experience.
- Strong knowledge of web applications, including security, session management, and best development practices.
- Adequate knowledge of relational database systems, Object-Oriented Programming, and web application development.
- Basic knowledge of the Search Engine Optimization process.
Reporting Responsibilities
- Senior Web Developer would report directly to the Lead Architect and Project Owner.
COMPENSATION:
This is a part-time contract (1099) position.
