POSITION SUMMARY:

As a Housekeeper at The Gibson Inn, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our historic property's cleanliness and aesthetic appeal. Your attention to detail and commitment to excellence will ensure our guests have a comfortable and

memorable stay. You will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining guest rooms, common areas, and public spaces to the highest hygiene and presentation standards.

The ideal candidate for this position should have prior experience in housekeeping, preferably within the hospitality industry. You should be well-versed in cleaning techniques, have a keen eye for detail, and be able to work efficiently while maintaining a high level of quality. Excellent time management skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are essential.

As a Housekeeper at The Gibson Inn, you will have the opportunity to grow within the organization. Demonstrating a strong work ethic, leadership skills, and a dedication to guest satisfaction can lead to advancement opportunities in the hotel's housekeeping department or other areas.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Clean and maintain guest rooms, bathrooms, and common areas to ensure a spotless and inviting environment
  • Change bed linens, replenish towels, and restock guest room amenities
  • Dust furniture, vacuum carpets, and mop floors
  • Adhere to all safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards
  • Report any maintenance issues or safety concerns to the appropriate department
  • Assist with laundry duties as needed
  • Respond to guest requests and inquiries in a prompt and courteous manner
  • Maintain a positive and professional demeanor at all times

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience in housekeeping, preferably in a hotel or hospitality setting
  • Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and use of cleaning equipment and products
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods of time
  • Fluency in English; additional language skills a plus
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
