The Director Of Housekeeping Operations

We recognize that working in the hospitality field requires a very special skill set. In order to succeed, you must prioritize the guest and ensure that their experience exceeds their expectations. To accomplish this you are highly organized and strategic, with an exceptional ability to understand and meet the client's needs. In this role, we will depend on you to work closely with our General Manager to utilize your experience and skills to design and lead a housekeeping department that will maintain these standards across all of our properties.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist our General Manager in building our Housekeeping Department
  • Hire, train, supervise, and retain a team of cleaning, linen, and laundry staff 
  • Ensure all staff adhere to Seachange policies, procedures, and high standards
  • Develop and manage a budget, adhering to set annual costs, with the ability to perform a cost-benefit analysis 
  • Prepare schedules and assign duties to staff
  • Maintain inventory of cleaning and linen supplies
  • Inspect properties before guest and owner arrivals
  • Generate and provide the annual service contracts to our owners for their bi-annual housekeeping services
  • Coordinate with guests, owners, and Seachange management to resolve issues and report your team’s work.
  • Ability and willingness to perform the duties of those on your team, as needed
  • Weekend hours as needed

To Succeed, You’ll Need:

  • To be a strategic thinker, detail-oriented, and creatively manage operations
  • To be guest experience obsessed
  • To be computer savvy with good administrative skills
  • To have previous experience in housekeeping management in the hotel and/or vacation rental industry 
  • Experience in building, training, and supervising a housekeeping team
  • To be able to develop, track, and keep to operational budgets
  • To be proficient on Windows-based desktops, laptops, i/OS based tablets, and mobile devices
  • To be available to work Sunday through Saturday, early mornings and evenings as needed
  • Knowledge of city, state, and federal employment laws
  • To be pleasant and professional in all forms of communication with your team and clients
  • The ability to work well under pressure in an agile, fast-paced environment
  • To have excellent time management skills, be able to change activities frequently, and cope with interruptions
  • Valid driver's license
  • To adhere to all company policies and procedures

Physical Requirements are:

  • Ability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods
  • Reach overhead and below the waist
  • Regularly push, pull, and lift up to 25 pounds
  • Occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds
  • Bend, stoop, squat, kneel, and twist

Annual Salary: 

  • $40,000 - $60,000 to be determined based on experience
