Primary Objective of Position
Enhance and manage the SkyRun software development and operations process from user requirements prioritization to design and assignment to a developer, to testing, to production. The DevOps Engineer reports to the Director of Location Support.
Primary Job Responsibilities
General
Develop a deep understanding of the SkyRun software stack and it’s operations on AWS.
Innovation/Prioritization
Work with Location Support to balance the prioritization of requirements for new system functions and fixing day to day system bugs.
Create new and innovative system functions.
Identify, develop, and implement the latest API specifications from SkyRun’s core business partners.
Development
Become familiar with and implement the agile software development methodology.
Use Github to manage our development and movement through 3 stages (development, testing, production).
Manage the day-to-day work of SkyRun’s developers by designing and documenting solutions they can implement. Translating user needs into an implementation design.
Document technical enhancements for major product releases.
Work with the Location Support team to document user-friendly help-desk solutions.
Operations
Monitor and ensure maximum uptime and performance of our systems on an Amazon Web Services platform. This must be done 24x7.
Secure our systems from hackers.
Perform Tier 2 support for the help desk, assigning issues to tier 3 (developers) when necessary.
Rotating on-call duties as assigned.
Development
Become familiar with and implement the agile software development methodology.
Use Github to manage our development and movement through 3 stages (development, testing, production).
Primary Measurements
SkyRun Destination Owner satisfaction.
System uptime levels.
Number of bugs that get through the code promotion process as tracked by the helpdesk.
Qualifications
Experience with AWS
Experience with Github for code management
Experience with the agile methodology for development
Experience in and/or an understanding of the SkyRun Technology stack (Linux, MySQL, PHP, Javascript, vue.js, Joomla and GraphQL)
Education
BS degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline or comparable work experience required

Compensation
DOE | Starting salary $75,000
Salary Range $90,000 - $125,000
