COMPANY OVERVIEW:

Beach Retreats offers a collection of unique, independent properties in Ocracoke Island, Nags Head, and Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina. The properties range from inns and B&Bs to villas, beach bungalows and motels. Each property is highly individual and enables guests to experience each destination on their own terms.  Each Beach Retreats location has a designated innkeeper or site manager, who will be your on-site contact ensuring your vacation is relaxing and memorable. While our office hours vary by location and time of year, all properties also provide an emergency contact number for any after-hours needs.

POSITION SUMMARY:

As a Breakfast Chef at Beach Retreats, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking delicious breakfast meals for our guests. The ideal candidate will have a passion for crafting high-quality dishes while maintaining a clean and organized kitchen. You will work closely with the front desk staff to accommodate special dietary needs and ensure a smooth dining experience for all guests. The ideal candidate will be able to manage the busy kitchen during peak hours and ensuring a smooth and efficient preparation process.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Preparing and cooking breakfast meals according to established recipes and the Inn's requirements
  • Ensuring that all dishes are cooked to perfection and nicely presented
  • Follow food safety and hygiene regulations while preparing and handling food items
  • Maintaining a clean and organized working space, including kitchen equipment and tools
  • Ensuring inventory levels are maintained, supplies needed are replenished
  • Keep food cost in check while maintaining excellent food
  • Coordinating with the front desk staff to ensure that special dietary needs are accommodated
  • Providing training and guidance to junior kitchen staff members.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 1-2 years of experience in a similar role
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations, Certified Serve-Safe
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and team-working skills
  • A willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, and holidays.
